Ahmed Gomez

Holguín, Cuba

Ahmed Gómez was born in 1972 in Holguín, Cuba. He began his artistic training at the Vocational School of Arts in Holguín, continuing at the National School of Art (ENA), and culminating his education at the Higher Institute of Art (ISA) in Havana, where he graduated in 1994. That same year, Ahmed participated in a mural painting restoration workshop at INBA in Mexico City.

Throughout his career, Ahmed has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions. Some of his most notable shows include:

  • 2022: "Una Isla en peso" at the Musée des beaux-arts, Rennes, France.
  • 2018: "HANDMADE" at ArtLabSpace, Miami, FL.
  • 2017: "RECYCLED" at ART@WORK, Miami, FL, and "MANTECA" at the Cuban Art Club, Miami, FL.
  • 2016: "Cuban Fried Chicken" at Mac Fine Art, Ft. Lauderdale.
  • 2014: "Modern Times" at Landhuis Bloemhof, Netherlands Antilles.

Ahmed has exhibited his work in various galleries and museums, including the Freedom Tower in Miami and the Museo Vault in Miami, as well as the Beijing International Art Biennale in 2010. His career spans over three decades, focusing on the exploration of cultural and contemporary themes in his art.
